Ok, ok, ok. I know I was suppose to LOVE this book and want to RECOMMEND it to everyone, but I didn't and I don't think I will. (It pains me to say that because of the possible repercussions from lovers of this book.)
It was a good story. It was well written. It was creative. It touched your heart and made you root for Little Bee and everyone who does not have a chance. BUT, and maybe it is because I started it right after finishing "It's Kind of a Funny Story", it made me feel uneasy and hopeless and helpless and sad and angry and scared. Maybe if I had read a happier book right before this one my outlook might have been different, but I didn't and that's how this book made me feel.
